Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is the manipulation of fascia in the body. Fascia is connective tissue that gives your body shape and form. I use this technique to improve a clients posture and make their body balanced so that when it comes to doing daily or sporting activities you are able to use your body  correctly and efficiently so the chances of injury are minimised. This is a very good way to keep your body in good condition even if you don't do sports!  Myofascial release can be used as a soft tissue therapy as it is good for circulation, lymph drainage (immune system) and flexibility. Myofascial release can be used as deep tissue therapy too which allows me to further manipulate the muscles to align your body for weight distribution balance and injury repair

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points or knots in a muscle can cause pain not only in that muscle but can refer pain to other parts of the body, for example a migraine radiating pain around your head can be caused by a trigger point in your neck or upper back. Trigger points can also refer twitching or muscle spasms which can cause pain and discomfort. Using trigger point therapy relives tension in the muscle and eventually making the trigger point disappear, therefore getting rid of the source of your pain. Trigger points can be found all around the body and can be the cause of ankle, knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow, hand and head pains!
